Microchipping
Microchipping will become mandatory for all dogs & cats on November 1st 2015.
At CCVH we use ‘mini-chips’ which are about 1/3 of the size of regular microchips. Microchips are registered on a national registry, which means your pet can be identified by their unique chip id anywhere in Australia. Registration lasts for the life of your pet.
Mini-chips have advantages over regular microchips-
- Smaller size means a less painful insertion
- Smaller size means they are less likely to migrate underneath the skin
- No local anaesthetic needle- quick & easy
