Dr Emma Barrett BSc BVMS– Practice Owner, Veterinarian & Acupuncturist
Dr Emma was four years old and living on her family plantation in Carnarvon when she first watched the Australian TV series ” A Country Practice” and decided she wanted to be a Vet and with determination and dedication, that is exactly what she did! Emma left Carnarvon only briefly to complete her studies, first as a boarder for year 11 and 12 at Santa Maria college, then straight onto Murdoch University to complete her degree in 2006.
Emma returned home and went straight to work at Gascoyne Vets where she stayed until 2009, leaving to assist a co-worker who opened the Coral Coast Veterinary Hospital. In 2015, Emma took ownership of the business, and loves assisting the families of Carnarvon and surrounds with all their pet care requirements. Emma loves reuniting people with their pets after they have been unwell and the many smiles she brings to peoples faces. She loves Carnarvon for its diverse industry and cross section of people as well as being close to her family and life long friends. Emma’s special interests include dentistry, acupuncture and equine cervical spinal mobilisation. Emma has a very boisterous Cocker Spaniel Betty, who keeps her on her toes!
Dr Georgia Taylor AnSc(Hons) BSc DVM – Veterinarian
Dr Georgia joined the team in January of 2021 after graduating as a Vet from Murdoch University in 2020. Prior to completing her veterinary degree, Georgia completed a Bachelor of Animal Science with Honours degree in 2016. During this degree Georgia discovered her love for research and all things pigs related. Being originally from Broome, Georgia has always been a country girl at heart and knew she wanted to move back up north after university. Georgia is loving living back in the sunshine and is very excited to be surrounded by mango trees again!
Georgia enjoys the client relations aspect of general veterinary practice and is always happy to chat about your pets needs. She has a keen interest in conservation and exotic wildlife medicine, animal welfare and small animal dentistry. Georgia has two very old, extremely cute ‘white fluffy’ dogs; Buddy and Holly, and spends most of her time giving in to all of their demands. When not being ordered around, you can find Georgia spending time with her family, reading or scuba diving amongst the beautiful coastlines of WA.
Jemma Hugo – Registered Veterinary Nurse
Jemma, originally from the Hunter Valley NSW, moved to Carnarvon in 2019 and has been a valued member of the team ever since. Jemma developed a love for the country whilst studying her certificate in primary industries in high school. That love grew stronger and eventually led to her working on a large sheep station in the north west pastoral district of SA, where she learned about animal husbandry, sustainable land management and maintaining water supplies for livestock.
Jemma is currently studying her certificate IV in veterinary nursing and is set to complete her qualifications in September 2022. Jemma is the comedian in our team, always cracking jokes and making us laugh. Jemma enjoys the organisational aspect of her job and loves everything to be clean and in place! Jemma is some what of a clinic vampire when it comes to blood collections and has really found her niche in phlebotomy, always eager to learn more. Outside of work, Jemma is due to become a first time mum to a furless baby and is looking forward to spending time with her growing family.
Taylor Lloyd – Registered Veterinary Nurse
Taylor joined the Coral Coast family in 2020 after returning from her travels, which included nursing for injured and sick animals in the Philippines.
If you’ve visited our clinic, you would probably have met Taylor out the front greeting you and assisting you with any of your furry friend’s needs. Taylor is now situated out the back as a surgical nurse and in the consult room as your consult nurse.
Taylor’s love for animals goes back to her early childhood announcing to her family she was running away with Greenpeace to save the animals. This love has sustained and Taylor now has two three-legged cats, Maple and Maya. Taylor has a passion for animal stress management, diet and client education. When not at work you’ll find Taylor, teaching Yoga, camping, free diving or studying.
Chloe Hale– Registered Veterinary Nurse
Chloe joined the team towards the end of 2020, moving from the great southern region. Chloe started her nursing career back in 2013 and has a keen interest in pocket pets and patient care. Chloe has always been a lover of animals and is constantly updating her nursing knowledge and skills with the latest education.
When not at work Chloe enjoys painting, sewing and never finishing any project she begins before starting the next one. At home Chloe lives with a small petting zoo consisting of Nellie the dog, Wednesday, Dragon and Nigel the cats, her two guinea pigs Cucu and Bananas and her two fish Pike and Gaga.
Emily Morey– Registered Veterinary Nurse
Emily is one of our newest additions to the team, having joined us at the beginning of 2022. After spending three years in the animal care industry and completing a certificate III in Animal Studies, Emily decided to take a big leap into veterinary nursing. Completing her certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2021, Emily made the move from Perth to experience the country lifestyle. Initially a daunting experience, Emily has loved every minute of it and is looking forward to the hectic bustle of the tourist season in Carnarvon.
Outside of work you will find Emily cuddling up to her cat Captain whom she has raised from a day old kitten. Emily has just started lead training with Captain, so if you see a lady walking a cat at the local markets, come up and say hi!

Kate Lawer– School Based Trainee
Kate came to us as a school based trainee in 2020. Now in her final year of high school, Kate is really enjoying working closely with our patients and is looking forward to completing school. Over the time that Kate has been with us, she has proven herself to be an incredible asset to the team and is constantly improving on her skills.
Adam – Patient Relations
Adam is the head of patient relations in the clinic. Adam enjoys sleeping, eating and being an all round naughty boy in his spare time.
