Coral Coast Vets is a team of passionate veterinary professionals who love to look after your pets. We’re dedicated to providing a happy and healthy workplace where our team members can thrive and feel supported, which results in better continuity of care for our customers.
Dr Emma Barrett BSc BVMS- Practice Owner & Veterinary surgeon
Dr Emma was four years old and living on her family plantation in Carnarvon when she first watched the Australian TV series ” A Country Practice” and decided she wanted to be a Vet and with determination and dedication, that is exactly what she did!
In 2015, Dr Emma took ownership of Coral Coast Vets and feels there is nothing better than reuniting people with their pets after they have been unwell.
A born and bred Carnarvon local, Dr Emma is raising her two children Archer & Freya in her home town surrounded by family, friends, a clydesdale named Pearl, a shetland named Sonny and a cocker spaniel named Betty.
Dr Emma co-authored an anthology ‘Women Leading the Way’, which became a number one best seller on Amazon in 2023.
dr cassidy robertson BVSc – veterinary surgeon
Dr Cassidy joined us all the way from South Africa, where she was born and raised. After graduating at the end of December 2022, she spent her first year out of university in a small town in the north east of South Africa, Hluhluwe, where she completed her Compulsory Community Service year.
She learnt an enormous amount and was extremely privileged to work with some wildlife along the way!
Dr Cassidy dreamt of being a vet from a young age and is now living her dream. She loves to travel and so she made the decision to come to Australia for a big adventure!
She is passionate about all her patients, big and small.
Emily Morey- Registered Veterinary Nurse
Emily joined us at the beginning of 2022. After spending three years in the animal care industry and completing a certificate III in Animal Studies, Emily decided to take a big leap into veterinary nursing. Completing her certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2021, Emily made the move from Perth to experience the country lifestyle. Initially a daunting experience, Emily has loved every minute of it and is looking forward to the hectic bustle of the tourist season in Carnarvon.
Outside of work you will find Emily cuddling up to her cat Captain whom she has raised from a day old kitten. Emily has just started lead training with Captain, so if you see a lady walking a cat at the local markets, come up and say hi!
CLARE JOHNSON- Trainee Veterinary nurse
Clare is our trainee vet nurse who is half way through her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Her compassion for animals has only grown more and more learning from the best everyday! With a gentle touch and keen understanding of animal behaviour she strives to create a nurturing environment for your pets. It’s not uncommon to find Clare having extra cuddles.
Clare is a born and bred Carnarvon local and took inspiration from Dr Emma being her family vet, to follow a path of working with animals. She is extremely grateful to be learning from Dr Emma and the other staff.
Clare has a beautiful dog of her own called Moose who she loves dearly he is a Bull Mastiff x Ridgeback and is her big baby.
SHannon Pengel- registered Veterinary nurse
Shannon grew up in a small wheatbelt town called Kellerberrin. She completed all of her schooling in the country and graduated from WA College of Agriculture Cunderdin in 2013. After graduation, Shannon moved to Perth and began her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, graduating in 2020.
Upon completion, she commenced work in a busy small animal GP clinic in north Perth.
Being a country girl at heart, she decided to make the move to Carnarvon at the start of 2024. Shannon is loving life up north alongside her two fur babies, Coby & Archie.
tahli flack- client liaison
Tahli is our newest member and has joined our customer care team. She is the smiling face on the front desk.
Tahli has a background in the pharmacy industry and is originally from Tasmania. After visiting Carnarvon in 2023, she decided to settle here, enjoying everything the NW has to offer.
